N.A.’s primary purpose is to carry the message of recovery. The purpose of the Public Relations sub-committee is to ensure that clear and accurate information about N.A. is available to the public. This helps ensure an accurate perspective of recovery in N.A. and avoids self-promotion and personal grandiosity. Involvement in P.R. provides an excellent opportunity to learn our principles and help extend awareness of our fellowship. Carrying the message insures the growth of our members and the health of our fellowship. P.R. meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30PM on Zoom. Please see the Subcommittee Meetings tab for Meeting ID.
The subcommittee conducts a Newcomers Workshop the first and third Thursday evening of the month from 6:00PM-7:00PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1100 Shasta Avenue, in San Jose. The Newcomer Workshop is held in the Fireside room. For more information, please send an e-mail to [email protected].
The Public Relations Subcommittee is also responsible for the area’s phoneline, which provides an opportunity for one addict to help another addict on a personal, one-to-one basis. By maintaining a 24-hour-a-day phone service, Narcotics Anonymous is always available to those in need. This service connects the experience, strength and hope of the fellowship with the still suffering addict. The phoneline also provides meeting times and locations. Addicts are always needed to be available on the other end of the phone when someone reaches out. To get involved in with the Phoneline, come to the Public Relations sub-committee meeting at 7:30PM on the first Wednesday of the month on Zoom. Please see the Subcommittee Meetings tab for meeting ID. For more information, please send an e-mail to [email protected].
